Zehra Güneş began playing volleyball at the age of 11 at Vakıfbank and later transferred to Beşiktaş JK in 2013. In 2015, she joined Vakıfbank again, where she won two Turkish Women’s Volleyball League titles and one CEV Champions League title.

Zehra Güneş was also a member of the Turkish national team that won the silver medal at the 2017 Women’s European Volleyball Championship. In 2019, Zehra Güneş transferred to Fenerbahçe and won her third Turkish Women’s Volleyball League title with the club in the 2019-2020 season.
